The Golden Berry, best known as uchuva in Colombia, is native from the tropical high altitude countries of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. the golden berry is a small, spherical, smooth fruit with numerous tiny seeds. Its flavor is not too sweet and subtly sour, allowing the taster to experience different sensations with each bite. Yellow on the inside, the uchuva is enclosed by a papery calyx, giving the fruit its French name “Amour en cage” (Love in a cage).

The paçoca (peanut candy) is a typical Brazilian sweet. The word paçoca comes from tupi guarani pa-çoc, and it is they who created this sweet. We at the gelateria perino, by studying this sweet, we make a gelato very close to this fantastic sweet. People often say when they taste it “oh my God… it’s likes fresh paçoca (peanut candy)”. This gelato is also very rich in flavor because we use various types of peanuts along with the gelato paçoca (peanut candy) we found while attending an event organized of the Sao Paulo State Tourism Secretary last year in 2014 called “sabor de Sao Paulo” (taste of Sao Paulo). It’s a genuinely Brazilian flavor but all people who love the peanuts definitely will love this flavor.
