SIGEP, the world’s premier bakery event for artisan gelato and the leading European showcase for artisan confectionery and coffee, is held in Rimini, Italy. Its mission is to spread the culture of Italian-style gelato, a fresh, artisan food product, throughout the world. More than 201,000 industry specialists visited the 37th edition in January 2016.

Carpigiani Gelato University offers every level of artisan gelato courses at its main campus in Bologna – Italy, and at its 11 satellite campuses around the world, located in the USA, UK, Argentina, Japan, China, Singapore, Germany, Russia, France, Brazil and Dubai. A new location in the USA will be opening in Fall 2016 in Vernon Hill, Illinois, joining the already-present campus in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

With this leading internationally renowned faculty, everyone anywhere in the world can become a gelato professional! The mission of Carpigiani Gelato University is to create the foundation for a global culture of artisan gelato.

Gelato provides a platform on which we can build a great variety of natural foods, diversifying the ingredients and flavoring, according to the tastes of local populations. Established in 2003 as the educational division of Carpigiani, the University has reached new heights during the 2014-2015 school year: CGU organized 400 courses in 10 languages, for a total of 12,000 lectures in 12 countries around the world.
